YouTuber became a ‘millionaire’ after posting only one video 9 years ago
The 10-hour fireplace video has been viewed 157 million times.
Who is said to have made that much money from a single video? they are neither big internet stars nor influencers, and they do not create amazing content with high production value. But sometimes the luck is in your hands, and that is impressive. In fact, there are not many such stories, and this happened on the YouTube platform.

The video titled “Fireplace 10 hours full HD” was uploaded on October 2, 2016, by the channel of the same name. It contains exactly what the title promises: a repeating shot of a fireplace with a soft flame and a crackling sound, played continuously for 10 hours.
Over the years, the video has quietly accumulated over 157 million views, despite the channel never uploading anything else.
And while there are quite a few videos like this out there now, this particular one has the added benefit of lasting 10 hours, so you don’t have to restart it if you want to keep it on overnight while you sleep.
Commentators were intrigued by the fact that the channel has a minimum subscriber count of around 115,000 per video and no visible creator personality. The idea that such a low-effort, utilitarian upload could generate seven-figure sums seemed irresistible to the public.
In a post that has now gone viral, a Twitter user shared a photo of the channel and its estimated earnings, with the caption: “Brother ready for life.”
A graph of estimated earnings showed how the number of views on the video had been steadily increasing since it was first uploaded in 2016.
The total was likely a staggering $1.248 million.
Shocked, one person wrote: “Bro might have found the loophole in squeezing max monetization on youtube…”
A second agreed: “Bro is printing money.”
Another added: “Infinite money glitch.”
Someone else questioned: “I’m so perplexed rn like what made him think about this?”
And the million-dollar figure itself has important caveats. Estimates circulated online typically rely on tools like Social Blade, which extrapolate potential revenue based on view counts, average ad serving rates, and historical performance. YouTube doesn’t disclose exact revenue for individual videos, and third-party calculators are, at best, educated guesses based on assumptions about ad fill, viewer geography, and how often ads are shown.
There are numerous ways to make money on YouTube, but most creators bring in cash via ad revenue from different overlay and display ads that play on and during their content.
YouTube stated: “Advertising is the most common way for creators to make money on YouTube. Advertising revenue is generated when people watch ads that appear on videos. This ad revenue is shared between YouTube and the creator, allowing creators to directly profit from their work.”
“Creators must first be eligible for the YouTube Partner Program (YPP) to earn money from advertising on their videos and live streams. In keeping with our commitment to responsibility, we view monetisation as a privilege and reward only trusted Creators.”
