Samsung halts Galaxy project: these smartphones will no longer be sold
The planned "Galaxy S26 Edge" won't be released. Instead, Samsung is focusing on the "Plus" model.
Samsung canceled the “Galaxy S26 Edge” late in development. As reported by South Korean online platform The Elec, this decision was due to the weak sales figures of its predecessor. Instead of an ultra-thin model, Samsung is once again opting for a Plus variant.

The Galaxy S26 Plus is based on the previous model
An additional “Plus” model, internally codenamed “M Plus,” is being developed for the Galaxy S26 series. According to The Elec, it joins the existing “M1” project for the base model and the “M3” project for the Ultra model.
According to Indian news site Business Standard, the Galaxy S26 Plus is expected to have the same specifications as the S25 Plus, including a 6.66-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. The battery could be slightly larger, around 4,900mAh, and Samsung will likely use either the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 or Exynos 2600, depending on the region.
Samsung plans to offer more models
Samsung currently plans to produce 3.6 million units of the Ultra model, 700,000 of the standard devices, and 600,000 of the Plus model. These numbers are expected to be revised in February, as production of the standard and plus devices may increase, while production of the Ultra model may decrease.
The Galaxy S26 series phones are expected to be unveiled on February 25. Samsung has not yet announced an official confirmation date.
Also interesting: there are growing signs that the upcoming Galaxy S26 series will be launched in major trading markets at unchanged prices.
