As Samsung’s new flagship series approaches its launch, new information about the Galaxy S26 series’ pricing has emerged, significantly changing some predictions. The Ultra model may, contrary to expectations, be cheaper than the previous generation model.

Galaxy S26 series prices revealed
Leaked data shows that the prices of the Galaxy S26 Ultra models should be lower than the corresponding Galaxy S25 Ultra versions.
The S26 Ultra with 256 GB of storage is expected to retail for around €1,399 in Sweden, while the 512 GB model will retail for around €1,569. The 1 TB model will remain unchanged, according to Swedish retailer data from WinFuture.
Prices of other models in the series
The standard Galaxy S26 model will likely be priced higher than the previous generation model. This will be due to it having more initial storage, which will naturally increase the price.
However, this may also be due to the rising costs of device components, especially memory and flash memory chips, which are in demand due to the need for larger screens, improved artificial intelligence features, and more powerful processors.
| Storage size | „Galaxy S26“ | „Galaxy S26+“ | „Galaxy S26 Ultra“ |
| 256 GB | €1,049 | €1,299 | €1,399 |
| 512 GB | €1,259 | €1,449 | €1,569 |
| 1 TB | – | – | €1,809 |
The base model of the Galaxy S26 becomes significantly more expensive, as the manufacturer abandons the 128 GB version and starts all models with 256 GB, which automatically raises the starting price by about 180-200 euros compared to the S25.
The base price of the Galaxy S26+ remains similar to the previous generation, but when choosing 512 GB of memory, the price jump is much greater than last year, more than 200 euros.
Meanwhile, the Galaxy S26 Ultra stands out in the opposite direction: the initial 256 GB version costs about 100 euros less than the S25 Ultra this year.
Aside from pricing, it’s known for now that the devices will likely retain their usual camera configurations, but the Ultra model will feature faster 60W wired charging, improved wireless charging, and a larger battery.
It is speculated that the Galaxy S26 series will retain similar camera features as the Galaxy S25.
What does this Samsung pricing strategy show?
The cheaper Galaxy S26 Ultra is more likely to reflect a deliberate shift in Samsung’s pricing direction than a random decision. The manufacturer seems to be trying to stop the price hikes of its flagships and keep the Ultra appealing to a wider audience, not just a narrow niche – especially as competition increases and consumers become more discerning about value for money.
If this pricing trend holds, Samsung could signal to the entire market that the constant price hikes for flagships have reached a limit. Then the competition will increasingly shift from price hikes to real value and user experience.
Samsung has not officially confirmed the price or exact release date for the smartphone series. Unofficial data suggests that the Galaxy S26 series will be introduced during the Galaxy Unpacked event on February 25. The price of the devices themselves may still change depending on the market.
However, it is already known that there will be enough artificial intelligence features in the devices.
