Inside source: Apple’s next C2 modem will support satellite internet
There have been similar rumors before, but not as specific.
Well-known source Fixed Focus Digital reported that Apple’s C2 modem, which is expected to debut in the iPhone 18 Pro, will support NR-NTN technology for connecting to satellite internet.

NR-NTN (New Radio Non-Terrestrial Networks) is a satellite broadband technology designed to transmit satellite Internet to operator networks and expand network access in remote areas.
Apple was previously reported to be in talks with SpaceX to integrate Starlink support into new iPhones. According to Bloomberg, Apple is working on enabling satellite internet access in various apps, for which it is developing an API.
It was also reported that the company is working to achieve stable satellite connectivity even indoors or in clothing pockets, without requiring the iPhone to be pointed at the sky, as is currently the case.
