Figma has partnered with Anthropic to introduce “Code to Canvas“, a feature that converts code generated by AI tools like Claude Code into fully editable designs inside Figma.

The feature, announced Tuesday, creates a bridge between AI coding tools and the Figma process, allowing users who have created working interfaces to call on an AI agent to transfer them directly to the Figma canvas.
There, teams can refine it, compare options, and coordinate design decisions.
The move reflects a broader belief that agentic coding tools like Claude Code haven’t eliminated the need for design, and have made it more important. But there’s a risk that Figma is creating a better entry point onto a highway it no longer controls.
If AI tools continue to improve, teams may eventually skip the design development phase altogether.
Anthropic’s products were at the center of a massive sell-off in software-as-a-service stocks that Wall Street traders dubbed the “SaaSpocalypse.”
The iShares software ETF has fallen into bear market territory, with shares of companies like Salesforce, ServiceNow, and Intuit suffering double-digit declines.
The stock has fallen sharply since its IPO last summer, hit by the same reckless selling that has punished anyone with a SaaS business model. The company reports earnings after the market closes on Wednesday.
Figma stock is down about 85% from the 52-week high of $142.92 that it reached in August.
