First of all, there are many steps to becoming a great writer. And second, can it be your hobby or does it entertain you? Writing can’t just be a daily routine. And yet, there are three points about the subject of writing, if they are right for you, then you can become a top writer. ✍️

1. Write every day.
2. Set a timer.
3. Write in the morning.

Have you ever heard anything like that?

There is no secret or magic wand to getting good at writing or anything.

You will get better if you show up every day and do your job like any other. It’s just a matter of time and consistency before success comes your way.

Writing is also work, but it shouldn’t turn into suffering. If you have a hobby for writing, then everything is fine with you.

If you want to make a full-time income from your words… you have to roll up your sleeves and get to work. The most important thing is to do it consistently and with the message that it will bring you success if you look at it as a serious job. 💪🏻

And a few more things you should understand.

Let’s break them down.

1. Self-discovery, pursuit of a goal

When I first started writing, it wasn’t professional, I spent hours reading posts from top writers on Medium, watching other writing platforms and forums. it was my preparation for bigger things related to writing.

I tried to imitate their style, tone, structure – anything that would help me become a great writer. It was a self-discovery.

This is not a very bad thing.

It’s completely normal to copy your heroes. We learn this way little by little, with one goal in mind: to learn from the best. But if you never get past this stage, your voice will disappear.

The truth is, it’s your own attitude that makes you a valuable writer.

No one else has lived your life. No one else has seen the world through your eyes. And that’s what makes your writing powerful. Only your consciousness tells you what to write and how to write.

There can be two writers with the same experience, but they will write two different stories. This is the absolute power of the mind, your honest, lived perspective.

Be yourself, instead of looking for another voice, find your own. Discover yourself and pursue a goal… the end is always cheerful. 👍🏻

2. Make your mistakes – who cares?

This is the part that no one will tell you about.

Do whatever you can, everyone will look at you as an individual who lacks experience. We all have to go through this, but your efforts will not go unnoticed.

This may sound discouraging, but it is your greatest advantage. This is your time to make a mistake and come out of it clean.

  • Publish bad articles.
  • Try different voices.
  • Show all your masks.
  • Explore what kind of writer you want to be, without the pressure of an audience.

Every great writer was once a beginner. Every bestselling author has written a bunch of drafts that no one has ever saw.

When choosing your path, walk in a straight line in the middle and everything will be fine.

Don’t stress if your first few articles flop. It was meant to happen.

Just keep writing.

3. The game is only for your benefit

I used to read success stories on Medium and other similar websites all the time. They seemed unattainable to me.

I made $3,000 in my first month writing online.

You might say it’s impossible, but that’s the kind of statement that takes you into space. And yeah, sometimes it’s true.

Such success stories do not show the full truth about what they did, how they did. It’s their reluctance to tell everything. Why do they need to evade? So that you read their entire article without finding out the truth. But not always.

You don’t see the main part how they has been reached that success.

If you’re not prepared to continue for at least six months before you see significant results, you’re probably quitting too soon.

Your breakthrough will come. of course! 🤞🏻

But only if you stay in the game long enough to catch it.

4. Motivation your success guarantee

As it happens to everyone, you are full of energy at the beginning. Your self-confidence is overflowing. Everything seems exciting.

But after a few weeks, that initial excitement fades and the work starts to feel repetitive. Your hands lay down and you feel like you don’t have enough energy to continue.

This is the point where most people quit. 😢

The top writers – the ones who make a living from it – are the ones who learn to overcome that boredom.

  • They find strength, even on the days when things get tough.
  • They write nonstop, even when the dopamine is gone.
  • They don’t rely on motivation. They harness its power.

This process is self-development. Chasing success will not always bring you success. And running around in one direction or another will not bring any benefit. Develop the motivation to do everything to the end.

If you can fall in love with the process – sitting down and putting words on paper – you will be unstoppable.

Conclusion

No matter how good you are, don’t rate yourself a 10 out of 10.

Talent comes with time, unless you were born with talent? There is some truth to that too.

You just have to show up, be patient, accept messy drafts, and keep going long after the excitement wears off.

It’s not a secret, but a confirmed proof… Success in writing doesn’t come from one viral post. It comes from writing 100 that no one sees… and learning from every single one.

There is no secret, you decide your own future. My suggestions may be valuable, but try to find your own writing niche where you can earn and live from it.

You got it! 😇
