This feature has been spotted in the latest versions of Windows 11 and allows you to set video files such as MP4 or MKV as your desktop background.

The videos play every time you view your desktop, similar to third-party solutions like Wallpaper Engine. Microsoft previously supported video wallpapers in Windows Vista as a Dream Scene feature in the Ultimate version of the operating system, but Dream Scene was removed in Windows 7.
Video wallpapers are a highly requested feature among Windows users, and Wallpaper Engine regularly makes it into the top 10 list of Steam apps and games simply because of how many people have installed and run the app.
