AI ‘actress’ Tilly Norwood releases music single and video
The song was generated using "Suno", and the video was created by the "Particle6" team using various artificial intelligence tools.
Tilly Norwood, an “actress” created entirely by artificial intelligence, is now moving beyond short sketches and social media posts to present a music video titled “Take the Lead.”

Released ahead of the Oscars, the video features Norwood singing and dancing in a stylized digital environment while addressing the controversy surrounding artificial intelligence performers in the entertainment industry.
The song’s lyrics draw on criticism from actors and unions, portraying artificial performers not as substitutes for human talent, but as tools that can expand creative possibilities.
According to Norwood’s creators, 18 humans were involved in the making of the video, which included motion-capture technology.
Norwood is a fictional character created using generative media technology by Xicoia, the artificial intelligence division of production company Particle6. The company was founded by Dutch actress-turned-producer Eline Van der Velden, who unveiled the AI performer at the 2025 Zurich Summit.
The concept was to create a photorealistic digital character that could appear in films, social media, and other entertainment projects without relying on a traditional human actor.
The project has sparked a strong backlash from the film industry since its inception. Actors’ unions were quick to raise concerns about the implications of synthetic performers, warning that AI-generated characters could threaten creative work and undermine performers’ rights.
SAG-AFTRA president Sean Astin criticized the idea shortly after Norwood’s film premiered, arguing that replacing actors with artificial counterparts risks destroying the human element of storytelling.
Norwood first gained attention with short experimental clips designed to mimic Hollywood moments. Early videos featured the character on red carpets, appearing in mock movie trailers, or performing comedy sketches.
One of the earliest examples, the 2025 sketch comedy AI Commissioner, combined AI-generated imagery with scripts created using speech-modeling software.
