Another iPhone joins Apple’s ‘vintage’ devices list
Nearly 10 years after its release, Apple considers the original "iPhone SE" obsolete.
As MacRumors has noted, Apple has added the original iPhone SE to its list of obsolete devices on December 1, 2025, seven years after it stopped selling it in September 2018. This designation means that the aging smartphone can no longer be repaired or have its battery replaced through Apple Stores or its authorized service providers.

The device’s design is largely based on the iPhone 5s, with key specs including a 4-inch display, a Touch ID home button, and an aluminum and glass frame with chamfered edges. However, the original iPhone SE is powered by a newer A9 chip from the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus.
Other products joining the vintage list this year include the Apple Watch Series 1, MacBook Air 11-inch (2015), MacBook Pro 15-inch (2017), and second-gen AirPort networking devices we was noted earlier this year.
