Apple will keep the ‘liquid glass’ design in iOS 27
The system will retain many "moving" elements and "floating" windows. Artificial intelligence and OS stability will be considered above.
Apple doesn’t plan to radically change its visual style in iOS 27. According to Bloomberg journalist Mark Gurman, the company will keep the Liquid Glass interface to introduce users to spatial design before the release of its AR glasses, which are expected to appear in 2026-2027.

The decision to stick with the “glass” design was made despite the departure of chief interface architect Alan Dye in December 2025. Rather than a redesign, iOS 27 will focus on artificial intelligence integration and system stability.
Gurman also shared details about the first foldable iPhone in a book-shaped form factor, which is expected to be released this fall alongside the iPhone 18 Pro line. The smartphone, which is expected to cost between $2,000 and $2,500, will feature a 5.5-inch outer display and a 7.8-inch inner display with no visible creases, a thickness of 9-9.5 mm when folded, and advanced multitasking on iOS 27.
In addition, the release of the 7-inch smart display Siri Home Hub has been postponed until the end of 2026. The delay is related to the upcoming major update to Siri: the voice assistant will become a core part of the new $350 device and will learn to analyze screen content, generate images, and control system settings.
