There have been rumors for a while that the new M5 MacBook Pro models are due to arrive this month, but they probably won’t come in the same way as the M4, the M3 (and so on) before that. However, new reports suggest that there are some really exciting things coming to the MacBook Pro later this year.

As reported by The Elec (and spotted by 9to5Mac), the second MacBook Pro is expected to launch in the last quarter of 2026, and it could be the first model in years to feature a significant design update.

“We’re expecting the new design to be slimmer, with a punch hole for the FaceTime camera instead of the existing notch, and there is a chance that it might offer a touchscreen for the first time,” The report says. But for creative people, the most exciting rumored addition is the OLED display.
Currently, only the iPad Pro has Apple’s impressive dual-layer tandem OLED display, but the technology could make its way to the MacBook Pro, allowing for brighter colors, much higher contrast, and a touchscreen as well, which could make a huge difference for creative people.
Time will tell what happens with the Mac, but with the foldable iPhone also set to arrive in 2026, it looks like it will be a particularly fruitful year for Apple fans.
