Apple added the “iPhone 11 Pro Max” and the Apple “Watch Series 3” to its vintage list this week, MacRumors reports.
Apple places a product on its antique list five years after it stops selling it. At that point, the product can only be repaired by Apple or an Apple Authorized Service Provider, if replacement parts are available.

The iPhone 11 Pro Max was released in (2019) alongside the iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11. While the Pro Max was listed as a vintage model, the other two were not. MacRumors says this likely indicates that they were more popular with third-party resellers.
According to MacRumors, the Apple Watch Series 3 was released in (2017) and was on sale until September 2022. It outlived its successor, the Apple Watch Series 4, which was added to the vintage device list earlier this year.
Apple regularly updates its lists of both vintage and obsolete phones. Last month, it added the (2015) 11-inch MacBook Air and the (2017) 13-inch and 15-inch MacBook Pro to the obsolete list, and moved the iPhone 8 Plus to the vintage list.
This year, the iPhone 7 Plus, iPhone 8, and iPhone XS are also among the other phones added to the vintage list.
