Asus CFO calls MacBook Neo a ‘shock to the entire market’
According to him, the entire industry, including Microsoft, Intel, and AMD, is now actively discussing how exactly to compete with Apple.
On March 4, Apple introduced the MacBook Neo, an affordable $599 MacBook with a processor from the iPhone 16 Pro. The laptop doesn’t go on sale until March 11, but the Neo has already caused a stir among Windows PC makers.

The day before the Neo was unveiled, Asus CFO Nick Wu shared his thoughts on the new product. He described the MacBook Neo as “a shock to the entire market.”
“Given Apple’s history of very high prices, the launch of such an affordable product was a real shock to the entire market.”
Wu shared that the entire industry, including big companies like Microsoft, Intel, and AMD, is currently actively discussing how to compete with Apple. Windows PC makers see the new MacBook as a serious threat.
“Manufacturers are taking the MacBook Neo very seriously and are actively discussing how to compete with this product across the entire PC ecosystem. The entire PC industry will release relevant products to compete with Apple.”
