BBC launches 2026 Winter Olympics campaign
Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympic Games official trailer made by BBC.
BBC Creative has once again crafted a masterpiece with its campaign for the upcoming Winter Olympics in Milan-Cortina. Set in the frozen landscapes of the Dolomites and inspired by the Olympic flame, the film depicts the athletes’ intense efforts through the luminous trails left in their footsteps.

The campaign sees the BBC’s in-house agency working with animation studio Nomint, led by director and founder Yannis Konstantinidis, who created a stop-motion film featuring 700 individually 3D printed athletes.
The team aimed to create a “first step in the stop-motion film industry” by incorporating volatile combustion technologies into the extremely rigorous stop-motion filmmaking process to create the fiery effects seen in the final film. In the age of artificial intelligence, as the filmmaking footage below shows, this is decidedly hand-made.
“This project was technically demanding and creatively exhilarating,” says Konstantinidis. “From our very first conversation with BBC Creative, we knew we had the chance to pursue the near-impossible. It demanded absolute trust and a willingness to take real creative risks in pursuit of something extraordinary.
“This film celebrates courage, not just in sport, but in creativity. It is a reminder that when brave creative teams come together with obsessive makers, you can still create work that breaks new ground.”
The film is set to a powerful new arrangement of Giuseppe Verdi’s Requiem, recorded live at the Royal Albert Hall by the BBC Symphony Orchestra, the BBC Symphony Chorus, and the Crouch End Festival Chorus.
