Dr. Seuss opened a ‘travel agency’ to book trips to imaginative worlds
A whimsical new Dr. Seuss “travel agency” turns storybook worlds into bookable adventures.
Travelers looking for their next vacation destination should check their bookshelves first. Dr. Seuss Enterprises has unveiled Dr. Seuss Travel Agency, a playful new campaign that illustrates classic children’s stories as vacation destinations, inviting readers to “book” trips to places from the pages of Dr. Seuss.

The project, created in collaboration with marketing agency Known, introduces a fictional travel service that encourages fans to explore Seuss’ classic worlds through reading. The accompanying clip features the Cat in the Hat as a headset-wearing travel agent who helps viewers book trips not between continents, but between pages.
There’s also a website designed as a travel hub, but instead of offering flight or hotel packages, it features itineraries to locations taken from the author’s books. Visitors can plan trips to places like the Truffle Forest from The Lorax or the summit of Mount Zorn.
To reinforce the theme, the agency provides downloadable travel-themed materials, including passports, postcards, maps, and journals. Readers can use these items to follow their own fictional journeys while reading Dr. Seuss’ books.
The initiative was launched late last month to commemorate the birthday of Dr. Seuss, whose real name was Theodor Seuss Geisel, on March 2. Over the decades, the American author and illustrator created more than 60 children’s books, including “The Cat in the Hat” and “Green Eggs and Ham.” Geisel died in 1991, but his works continue to reach new generations of readers.
On his actual birthday, a themed bus designed by Dr. Seuss’ travel agency toured New York City. Staffers playing the role of travel agents handed out information about fairytale travel destinations, turning a city street into a quick stop on the campaign’s literary tour.
