‘Dreame’ equips an electric sports car with rocket propulsion
It features both an electric and a rocket engine.
Chinese vacuum cleaner and appliance maker Dreame has caused a stir with its plans for an electric sports car called the Nebula 1. Now, the company has also added a feature that is likely to fuel skepticism about the project: a rocket engine.

Dreame has unveiled the “Nebula Next 01 Jet Edition,” an electric sports car with an additional rocket propulsion system, at a private event in San Francisco.
The car is said to accelerate from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in just 0.9 seconds. The four-door electric sports car Nebula 1 was unveiled at CES in January, already boasting 1,399 kW of power and a 1.8-second acceleration time, but no further technical details about the vehicle were revealed at the time.
When the company’s electric vehicle division, “Dreame Cars,” was launched in August 2025, the organization announced plans to begin production in 2027. Rather than provide more details about the Nebula 1’s still-unclear powertrain, Dreame decided to once again draw attention with the Jet Edition and its even greater acceleration, even though solid-fuel engines are unlikely to be practical or road-ready. Thrust is said to reach up to 100 kilonewtons, and the rockets launch in just 150 milliseconds.
Another new feature of the hypercar is a mass-produced solid-state sulfide battery with an extremely high capacity of 60 Ah. During laboratory tests, the energy density of a single cell exceeded 450 Wh/kg. If the battery can be manufactured with the promised energy density, Dreame predicts that it will be able to travel 550 kilometers on a single charge (CLTC) using only battery power. First of all, the design is created to mitigate and eliminate the main causes of accidents, and the battery itself is being prepared for mass production.
Dreame plans to start producing cars in 2027, but the first model will be a regular version of the Nebula NEXT 01, a high-performance sedan without rocket engines.
