Google employee Nick Fox announced that, in honor of Google Translate’s 20th anniversary, it’s getting an unusual new feature: pronunciation training. A dedicated “Practice” button has been added to the app for this purpose.
This AI-powered feature can help users practice speaking in another language. After pronouncing a selected phrase, the service will analyze your speech and rate its quality. If the phrase wasn’t pronounced well, Google will offer tips on how to improve.
Pronunciation training is available in the US and India. Currently supports only three languages: English, Spanish, and Hindi.
