Inspired by “Friends” Ross Geller’s (David Schwimmer) Moist Maker sandwich, the “Leftover Gravy” sauce, according to Heinz, “transforms the Thanksgiving staple into a condiment perfectly poised for the ultimate leftover sandwich.”

Instead of competing for a spot on the holiday table, Heinz has created a tribute to the quieter star of the season: the after-dinner sandwich. In a nod to the “Friends” story, the company has launched an innovative sauce called Leftover Gravy, designed not for mashed potatoes but for the beloved, overstuffed “Moist Maker” ritual that takes place in kitchens everywhere after guests have returned home.
Made with real turkey stock and “providing a rich, smooth, homemade flavor,” Leftover Gravy comes in a squeeze bottle and is “the perfect addition to any feast – and leftovers dish,” says Heinz, adding that it’s a “deliciously nostalgic leftover sandwich” with a slice of bread generously doused in rich gravy.
“Heinz is celebrating the fans who share an irrational love of the nostalgic sandwich by providing the key to a delicious day-after sandwich: Heinz Leftover Gravy.” – said Associate Director of Brand Communications for Heinz U.S. Jamie Mack
By turning its Homestyle Turkey Gravy into a condiment, Heinz is also tapping into the enduring appeal of Ross Geller’s famous sandwich from the 1998 “Friends” Season 5 Episode 9 “The One with Ross’s Sandwich.” The brand says the idea was born out of nostalgia and practicality: a bottle that can be squeezed directly onto leftover turkey, stuffing, or bread without heating or the hassle of a spoon.
To obtain this limited-edition Heinz Leftover Gravy Kit bundle billed openly as “the Moist Maker,” fans can purchase a 12-ounce jar of Heinz Turkey Gravy at Walmart, where the kit drops in small batches through November 21. Inside are recipes, branded extras and instructions for assembling the ultimate layered sandwich.
