‘Hello Kitty’ creator Sanrio to join gaming industry
Sanrio is looking to expand its global fan base for Hello Kitty and other popular characters by developing games.
Sanrio Co., the Japanese company that makes Hello Kitty products, said Tuesday it will release its first game in the fall, making a full-scale entry into the gaming industry.

Of the approximately 10 games to be released over the next three years under the new “Sanrio Games” brand, the first, a party game called “Sanrio Party Land” for the Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 consoles, will debut globally in the fall.
The game will feature over 45 original games featuring over 145 Sanrio characters.
The company is also considering tying its games to existing services, such as theme parks.
