IKEA x Chupa Chups to launch a meatball-flavor lollipop
Meat lollipops with lingonberries will be distributed free of charge to store customers.
The original announcement of a lollipop with the signature Swedish meatball flavor was published as an April Fool’s joke. But the public response was so strong that the companies IKEA and Chupa Chups decided to team up and actually produce this sweet treat.

The new product won’t be available for purchase. Chupa Chups will release a limited edition of exactly 1 million pieces, which will be given away to customers at hundreds of IKEA stores worldwide.
The promotion will take place in June 2026. However, you won’t be able to try the lollipop in stores in Sweden, Japan, India, Serbia, Croatia, Romania, and Slovenia – the candy won’t be available there.
“On 1 April, we invited people to imagine a meatball lollipop. And we couldn’t help but take it one step further – especially after the enthusiastic response,” said Ingka Group Commercial Manager Javier Quiñones.
“Together with Chupa Chups, we are now bringing a playful take on that idea to life. It is a fun way to celebrate our love of food, and to show that even a simple joke can turn into something real,” he added.
