KitKat unveils life-size chocolate race car inspired by Formula 1
KitKat gives Formula 1 a unique twist.
The giant five-metre (16.4 ft) and 350 kg chocolate masterpiece was unveiled by racing driver and presenter Billy Monger, marking KitKat’s partnership with Formula 1 in the UK and Ireland for the 2026 season and celebrating a limited edition miniature replica of the chocolate car.

This sweet speedster was created by chocolatier Jen Lindsey Clark, who spent 1,254 hours shaping it to resemble a real F1 car. Its design reflects the sharp lines of a race car, from the front wing to the rear spoiler. Instead of carbon fiber, the structure is made of smooth milk chocolate and crunchy flakes, giving the silhouette the softness of a unique chocolate.
While the sculpture is eye-catching for its scale, it also perfectly reflects the culture of Formula 1 itself. Pit stops and breaks in racing are part of the rhythm of the sport, so the installation playfully echoes KitKat’s long-standing message of encouraging fans to pause and savor the moment.
KitKat plans to release limited edition miniature chocolate Formula 1 cars in supermarkets across the UK and Ireland, so fans can take home their own tiny version. The campaign will also feature on-track activations at selected races, merchandise and prize promotions, and advertising tied to the Netflix series Drive to Survive.

Scott Coles, CEO of Nestlé Confectionery UK and Ireland, described the chocolate creation as a tribute to the precision and craftsmanship associated with motorsport, while also reflecting the playful personality of the KitKat brand. The result at Silverstone is a race car that may not break any speed records, but still delivers a memorable experience.
