Leaked: first look at Google’s AluminumOS
Now we can take a closer look at the new operating system.
Telegram channel MysticLeaks shared an exclusive look at Google’s latest operating system, AluminumOS, which is intended to be a hybrid of ChromeOS and Android.
The 16-minute video shows the initial activation process, launching windows, settings, and many other system components. The channel clarified that the system was launched on a MacBook Pro via a virtual machine.

The system supports desktop folders, virtual desktops, gestures and shortcuts for the touchpad and keyboard, and ecosystem features even with Apple devices.
MysticLeaks reported that in its current form, the system resembles more a slightly tweaked Samsung DEX mode than a full-fledged desktop OS. The channel also added that it found no optimized mouse and keyboard apps, and even Google apps are only web versions.
The source suggests that the full announcement will take place either today, May 12, or a week later, on May 19, at the Google I/O 2026 conference.
