‘MacBook Pro’ with OLED display delayed until 2027
The laptops are expected to feature an OLED touchscreen with a Dynamic Island notch and M6 series processors.
Bloomberg reporter Mark Gurman reported that a major refresh of the MacBook Pro has been delayed until early 2027. It was originally scheduled to arrive at the end of this year, but plans have been changed due to global shortages of components, including RAM and SSD drives, in the industry. The release of the updated Mac Studio is also being delayed for the same reason.

The upcoming MacBook Pro will feature one of the biggest updates in the series’ history, with key features including a move to OLED displays with a Dynamic Island notch, touch support, and new M6 Pro and M6 Max chips.
The laptop release delay isn’t software-related. The touchscreen software for macOS 27 will be fully ready by this fall.
Due to the scale of the changes and supply issues, Apple is expected to position the OLED versions as a new premium line with a higher price tag. In that case, the current M5-based models will remain available as entry-level options at the same prices.
