Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced the launch of “Vibes” in an Instagram post featuring a series of AI-generated videos. In one video, a group of furry creatures jump from one furry cube to another. In another, a cat kneads dough. In a third, an ancient Egyptian woman takes a selfie on a balcony overlooking Ancient Egypt.

Vibes is a short-form video stream available on the Meta AI app and meta.ai website. It allows users to browse, remix, and publish synthetic clips that essentially replicate the look and scrolling style of TikTok or Reels.
Users can create videos from scratch, use an existing clip and rework it with new styles, or add music and effects before publishing.
Finished creations can remain in the Vibes system or be exported to Instagram and Facebook Stories and Reels. Meta says the system will gradually personalize what people see, delivering AI-generated videos that match individual tastes.

Meta’s chief AI officer Alexandr Wang shared in a post that the company has partnered with AI image generators Midjourney and Black Forest Labs for the early version of Vibes, while Meta continues developing its own AI models.
The launch of the new feed comes as Meta has recently invested heavily in revamping its AI efforts amid concerns that it was falling behind competitors like OpenAI, Anthropic, and Google DeepMind.
As for Meta, I bet that users will not only tolerate AI-generated content, but will increasingly embrace it as a new form of entertainment.
