Microsoft raises ‘Surface’ prices by hundreds of dollars
Moreover, these models have been on the market for several years.
Microsoft, following the lead of many other manufacturers, has raised the prices of its Surface computers. Flagship models such as the Surface Laptop 7 and Surface Pro 11 have seen their prices increase by $500, even though both models have been on the market since 2024.
A Microsoft spokesperson told WindowsCentral that the price increase is due to the memory crisis and general component price increases. The new prices are now as follows:
| Model | Old price | New price |
| Surface Pro 13 | $999 | $1,499 |
| Surface Pro 12 | $799 | $1,049 |
| Surface Laptop 13 | $899 | $1,199 |
| Surface Laptop 13.8 | $999 | $1,499 |
| Surface Laptop 15 | $1,299 | $1,599 |
This is likely also bad news for Microsoft’s upcoming wave of refreshed Surface PCs, which will likely maintain or even increase these starting prices if component prices don’t improve. Microsoft is biting the bullet and raising prices now before announcing the next wave of hardware, which we’ve heard will happen in the spring and summer.
