New Madonna logo shows the ‘Queen of Pop’ is still controversial
But is "Confessions II" the end of everything?
Madonna has always known the value of controversy. It’s been part of her brand throughout her reign as the Queen of Pop, from juxtaposing sexuality and religion in the video for “Like a Prayer” to the open book “Sex” and, well, that NFT depicting her tree giving birth.

But is this her new slogan that says all is well, or is she still the same brat who is not bound by any standards of life because she herself is non-standard? The question is, what will happen next? Will we see her differently again? So let’s move on. Her controversial logo is something that makes us wonder if it’s a little too bold for this old lady.
Madonna has updated her website with the Confessions II branding ahead of the album’s release, which is expected to take place later this year. The new logo features a pair of bare legs in stockings and knee-high boots forming the letter “M,” with the speaker unit forming the midsection of the leg, alluding to invisible anatomical features.
Is this really vulgar, is she still sexy? Is it okay to act like this? But still, she is the Queen of Pop and for her, such an image shows how rotten she is from the inside, because we ordinary people do not see what is hidden under the double tone of her face and otherwise not so trained body.
Others find the design reductive and unoriginal, with some suggesting that the idea is borrowed from Jeff Koons’ Lady Gaga statue, the robotic stage design from Beyoncé’s Renaissance tour, or even Geri Halliwell performance at the 2000 Brit Awards.
I think Madonna, rather than copying someone, is declaring that the mother of them all is back. It’s also a direct reference to the visuals from her upcoming album, the self-titled 2005 album Confessions on a Dance Floor, where Ciccone was iconically sitting on a drum machine in the video for “Hung.”
Her 2005 album Confessions, a steady stream of nu-disco and club pop, was a huge hit, reaching number one in more than 40 countries. But Madonna is Madonna for her ability to constantly reinvent herself and do new things, not relive past glories. Is the queen of renewal finally feeling nostalgic?
