Meta continues its foray into wearable technology with the launch of a new addition to its smart eyewear lineup.

In partnership with Oakley, a brand long associated with sports and athletic performance, Meta has introduced the Oakley Meta HSTN smart eyewear, designed for consumers who want the smarts of Meta’s AI-driven features in a sportier, more futuristic aesthetic than classic Ray-Ban frames.
While the Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses have been the face of Meta’s wearable AI efforts to date, they’ve relied more on classic styling than athletic or technological advancements.
The Oakley Meta HSTN changes that, offering a bold, modern frame design that’s more in line with sports and streetwear trends. Available in six frame and lens combinations, including prescription options (for an additional fee), the HSTN glasses are aimed at a wider range of wearers who might previously have foregone the Meta smart glasses due to style preferences.

The HSTN features a discreet front-facing camera, open speakers, and built-in microphones that let you listen to music, answer calls, take photos and videos, and most importantly, interact with Meta AI, Meta’s always-on voice assistant.
The most striking feature of Meta AI in these glasses is the ability to provide contextual information using both the camera and microphones. Point your glasses at a sign in a foreign language and have it translated instantly, or ask questions about your surroundings, and Meta AI uses its computer vision and language model smarts to deliver real-time insights.

Whether you’re a tech enthusiast, an athlete, or just want to ditch your headphones and stay connected with minimal effort, Oakley’s version of Meta artificial intelligence glasses may finally be the one to stick around.

The limited edition Oakley Meta HSTN glasses launch today for $499, with the full range, priced at $399, set to release later in the summer.
