Nutella just turned its famous spread into ice cream
Nutella is launching ice cream in 14-ounce containers and single-serve wafer cones.
Nutella is coming to colder climes – and fans of the hazelnut spread may need to clear some freezer space. After decades of Nutella being spread on toast, pancakes, waffles, and just about every dessert imaginable, the iconic chocolate and hazelnut brand is officially entering the ice cream market with the launch of its first-ever packaged frozen dessert.

The ice cream debut marks another step in the expansion of Ferrero, Nutella’s parent company. In recent years, the brand has expanded beyond its original jar format to include cookies, snack bars, and other ready-to-eat products.
The new Nutella ice cream comes in two versions: a 450ml jar with Nutella swirls and layers folded into a creamy ice cream base, and a single-serve waffle cone for quick snacking. Ferrero says the products are now being distributed across the US.

The company notes that the container version is designed to provide a layered experience, while the cone format combines Nutella-flavored ice cream with a crispy waffle crust. The products are made in partnership with Wells Enterprises, an Iowa-based ice cream company known for brands like Blue Bunny, Halo Top, and Bomb Pop.
The ice cream promotion comes during an unusually busy year for Nutella. Just a few weeks ago, the brand launched Nutella Peanut, its first new flavor in more than 60 years, combining notes of roasted peanuts with the classic cocoa and hazelnut spread. Ferrero has also capitalized on viral online moments associated with the brand, including a widely shared video showing a jar of Nutella floating in a live broadcast from NASA’s Artemis II spacecraft.
