Opera now lets you increase tab volume by 500%
Tired of silent videos? In the latest update, Opera can increase the volume of tabs by up to 500%.
Opera has released an update to its browser that fixes annoyingly quiet audio and video on various websites. You can now use the built-in volume booster instead of third-party extensions, writes Neowin.

Today, Opera announced updates to the browser’s media features. The Opera sidebar now supports YouTube and Twitch, giving you access to the most popular video services with one click. And if your favorite streamer is having microphone issues, you can use the new volume booster to boost the volume up to 500%.

Opera has also updated its picture-in-picture (PiP) mode, which now supports video conferencing sites, including Zoom, has separate settings for each mode, and an updated design — the playback window adapts to the browser theme. To change PiP settings for a specific site, you need to click the lock icon in the address bar and toggle it from automatic to off.

“If you like to work while watching a livestream or tutorial, this update is built for you,” says Opera Senior Product Director Mohammed Salah. “And if you want to hear that low-quality audio better without relying on glitchy extensions? We’ve solved that natively. Just try not to push your laptop’s speakers to the limit.”
The Opera browser is available for Windows, macOS, Linux, ChromeOS, iOS, and Android, but the new features only work on the computer for now.
