Samsung is exploring new wearables like earrings and necklaces
Samsung last year launched its first fitness-focused smart ring, adding to its lineup of wearables, which mostly consist of smartwatches.

Now, the company is looking to expand its lineup with new wearables in a variety of shapes, such as glasses, earrings and necklaces, CNN reported.

“We believe it should be wearable, something that you shouldn’t carry, (that) you don’t need to carry. So it could be something that you wear, glasses, earrings, watches, rings, and sometime (a) necklace,” CNN quoted Choi as saying.

Earlier this year, Samsung said it was building smart glasses with Google, and in May, the Korea Economic Daily reported that the company was working on an advanced microdisplay for AR glasses.

Samsung Promise

The promise some of the AI features to be free of use, Samsung don’t yet know whether the brand plans to bring in a paid subscription.

Galaxy AI is one of Samsung’s biggest areas of innovation, but some are worried that you’ll soon have to pay for its features. Samsung has made it clear since the launch that it could start charging for Galaxy AI from “late 2025.”

But that’s not yet clear.

“We’ve been building this open platform that supports collaboration with a diverse variety of AI agents,” said Peter Park, Senior Product Manager at Samsung Electronics America.

“While plans for premium AI experiences will be decided in close coordination with our partners, there are no plans to charge for Galaxy AI experiences provided by default.”

A complicating factor is that Galaxy AI is sometimes combined with Google Gemini features, the pricing of which Samsung has no control over.
