Spotify launches verification labels to distinguish real artists from AI

Spotify is launching the “Verified by Spotify” system, which will verify live artists and award them with the appropriate certifications. This decision was made due to the proliferation of AI-generated tracks, which are often extremely difficult to distinguish from the works of real artists.
A verified artist’s profile will be marked with a corresponding label, confirming that they have been verified. The verification process involves several mechanisms, including the artist’s presence on social media outside of the platform and profile verification by real people. The review process will be gradual, so not all real artists will receive their label immediately.
Spotify also announced another new feature unrelated to verification: a new section will appear in the artist profile that will highlight key details about the artist, such as career achievements and upcoming concerts.
