The new ‘iPhone Pocket’ is not bad, but..
The new limited edition "iPhone Pocket" will be available starting Friday, November 14th, with a starting price of $149.95.
If you were confused by Apple’s crossbody strap designed to fit every iPhone model, then you’ll be even more confused by the new iPhone Pocket. The Pocket is actually a knitted bag, although it could be described as a sock designed to securely hold your iPhone, rather than just slip it into your purse or pocket.

Made in partnership between “Apple’s Design Studio” and Japanese fashion house “Issey Miyake”. The accessory comes in eight different colors, including black, cinnamon, lemon, mandarin, peacock, pink, purple, and sapphire.

Apple says the 3D knitted design was inspired by a “piece of fabric” (yes, really) and was born from the idea of ”creating an extra pocket” that could hold “any iPhone” and small everyday items. That means it can carry more than Apple’s $59 iPhone shoulder strap.
The brand also encourages users to wear the accessory in different ways suggesting it can be tied onto a bag as well as being carried on your arm or across your body. It comes in two different sizes with a long and short version, although Apple has yet to share exact dimensions.

Fashion designer Issey Miyake was a favorite of Apple founder Steve Jobs. Miyake created the iconic black turtleneck sweaters that Jobs regularly wore on stage to introduce new products. Miyake died in August 2022.
“The design of iPhone Pocket speaks to the bond between iPhone and its user, while keeping in mind that an Apple product is designed to be universal in aesthetic and versatile in use,” – according to Miyake Design Studio’s design director, Yoshiyuki Miyamae. “iPhone Pocket explores the concept of ‘the joy of wearing iPhone in your own way.”

The iPhone Pocket’s short version comes in all eight different colors and will cost $149.95. The longer version only comes in black, cinnamon, or sapphire, costing $229.95. The accessory goes on sale on Friday, Nov. 14.
Apple says it’ll be available in stores, but the company’s press release suggests it may be exclusive to its New York City Soho location for those in the US. If you want to buy an iPhone Pocket, your best bet is likely through its official website.
