The year 2026 brings a new twist to ‘Looney Tunes’
"WB Kids" has released a trailer for its latest web series, "Looney Tunes Gokko," which features iconic scenes reimagined as chibi/cute animations.
Looney Tunes Gokko is a new animated web series from Warner Bros. that reinterprets classic characters in a chibi-inspired anime style. Familiar characters released by “WB Kids” like Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, and Lola Bunny appear with rounded proportions, softer contours, and brighter color palettes, moving away from the franchise’s traditional mid-century aesthetic.

The series introduces a more compact storytelling format with fast-paced shorts that echo Japanese web animation while maintaining the original personalities and comedic dynamics.
“What’s up, Doc?” sounds a little different with rounder ears and wider eyes. Bugs Bunny and company are taking on a new look that aims for softer contours as Warner Bros. uses anime-inspired design for its latest series.

Classic elements – from Bugs’ playful tricks to Wile E. Coyote and the Road Runner’s endless chases – are delivered in a faster, more compact format that echoes Japanese web shorts.

The title itself hints at this approach. “Gokko” – a Japanese term associated with role-playing or imitation – suggests a playful reinterpretation rather than a complete reinvention. The series seemingly takes established characters and places them in exaggerated, fictional scenarios, preserving their personalities while changing the visual expression of those traits.
This direction builds on a previous experiment with “Tom and Jerry Gokko,” which premiered in Japan in 2022 and was later expanded to a wider audience through streaming platforms.
