Wallace & Gromit return in ‘Barbour’ Christmas ad
The amazing and intriguing Christmas advert of the year may have just landed..
After two successful years of festive collaboration with “Shaun the Sheep”, Barbour is teaming up with Aardman again for a 2025 Christmas advert, this time starring the much-loved duo of Wallace and Gromit.

The commercial takes place in Wallace and Gromit’s home, where viewers are introduced to Wallace’s latest invention, the “Gift-o-matic”. The robot, designed to make gift-giving easy, is wrapped in tartan, but not just any tartan, but Barbour’s new-season “Winterberry” tartan.
Other Barbour products, namely classic scarves, are featured throughout the animation, with the idea being to remind viewers that the heritage brand and craftsmanship woven into each product make them a great gift.
Of course, any Wallace and Gromit adventure is not without a bit of angsty antics, and while the Gift-o-matic successfully wraps and unwraps a few presents, things take an unexpected turn at the end in true Wallace style as the robot unwraps him down to his underwear, his modesty covered only by a Barbour scarf.

Created by Aardman Studios in Bristol, the work is a real gem, featuring their now-signature stop-motion style, and is a welcome antidote to other brands’ less masterful efforts this year – such as Coca-Cola’s much-criticized, entirely AI-powered holiday ad.

“Wallace and Gromit have always embodied warmth, eccentricity, and quintessential British charm, which makes them a wonderful fit for Barbour’s Christmas storytelling,” – says Aardman’s Nick Park. “We’re delighted to share this playful, festive tale with audiences this year.”
Alongside this year’s promotion, Barbour has created a limited edition line of “Re-loved Wallace & Gromit” inspired wax jackets, with all funds raised going to Oxfam.
